Surf

Silver Sands catches open Atlantic swell over a rock and cobble bottom. It draws a small local crew who know the break. If you are a beginner, come with an experienced surfer. There is no lifeguard on duty at any time of year.

Before you paddle out

Conditions shift with the tide and the swell direction, and the numbers above are a forecast, not the water in front of you. Surf it the way you would any unsupervised break: know your limits, look at it before you go in, and don't surf alone if you can help it.

Entry and exit

You get in and out mostly over stone rather than sand, so reef boots earn their place here. The drive in, where to park, and the walk down are covered on Getting Here.
