Silver Sands Beach & Park

Welcome to Silver Sands Beach and Park

Come walk the trails, breathe the salt air, and leave it better than you found it. There's no lifeguard and no facilities. It's a quiet stretch of coast that's stayed free and open to the public for over fifty years.

01

Beach Access

Aerial view of the cobble beach separating the open Atlantic from the shallow lagoon and sandbars behind it

Step right onto the shore. Silver Sands offers direct access to the Atlantic coastline, with open skies, salt air, and a shoreline of cobble, pebbles, and sand.

02

Forest Trails

A gravel trail curving through the forest past a sign reading Please watch your step, tripping hazards

About half a kilometre of walking on the headland above the west shore, with a few foot paths dropping down to the water. A separate trip from the beach – worth making on its own.

Wildlife & Birds

Shorebirds wading in shallow water along a sandbar on a grey day

Bald eagles, shorebirds, and more call this land home. Bring your binoculars and camera – this is a great place for wildlife photography.

04

The Lagoon

Two paddleboards pulled up on the stony shore of the lagoon on a sunny day

Wade into the shallow lagoon that wraps around Moses Island. It stays accessible at any tide, making it a great place for wading and exploring.
